SDS build and design bespoke online digital archives especially for schools. Scanning, collating, designing and programming — all aspects are undertaken by our own in-house teams.
Your digital archive of school material will not only act as a permanent and secure historic repisotory, but could also be used as an educational tool, too. Students can discover more about how school life was in the past or even research family members who might once have attended. All of your material, be it photographs, journals, letters, publications, records, reports, videos, web and social media content, or audio recordings, can be contained within a single, easy-to-use web site.
Your school site can be secured behind a user log-in, or can be available for public viewing. Built-in tools enable teachers, researchers and students (both past and present) to easily search for any topic or name; simply browse sections by category; or effortlessly scroll through a timeline to find what they need.
With our many years of experience in the market place we understand the kind of archives that exist in a school. This includes: the understanding of the structure of archives of online content (social, web), journals, minute books, transactions, year books, and photographic collections; and the creation of a meaningful, fully-searchable database of all the information contained within.
Absolutely any content – whether born digital or physical material digitised by our professional scanning team and equipment – can be added to the online archive. We are able to scan all kinds of documents, including paper (up to A0 in size), bound books and volumes, photographs, slides, and microfiche. Digital video and audio can be included alongside images, text and PDF copies of magazines, journals and books.
